More About Miniature Power
In a society with the mainstream cultural apparatus squarely focused on more, on growth, on "bigger is better", and on the self-afflicted endemic supersizing of everything from SUVs to deep fried tubers, it is with great pleasure that MudFire presents "Miniature Power." The exhibit brings together an eclectic group of artists who boldly build smaller where few dare to tread.
We believe that many of our fellow citizens quietly long for a simpler time when everything from CEO paychecks to our international ambitions were more restrained and manageable. This exhibit will present the delightfully slight, executed with great skill in a medium that typically discourages such explorations. Elevating the easily overlooked, MudFire invites the viewer to lean forward and appreciate the unexpected power of diminutive design.
The artists participating in the show are Christine Bentley, Dana Burrell, Sandy Culp, MudFire founder Erik Haagensen, Margaret Patterson, Margaret Tierney, and Liz Zlot Summerfield.
